Block heaters or tank heaters?

I'm upgrading the tank heaters on my FBC with new units and a commercial timer wired-in before the 110v GFCI circuit breakers in their own breaker box. I have shore power and can just set the timer for a couple of hours of heating each day before I get to the dock and the engines are easier to start in the cold months.

This saves wear and tear and electricity over 24hr use heaters.

Block heaters are another option.
