Vic, why would you put a lubricant between the shaft and prop? I know the obvious reason of if will be easier to take back off, but since a prop relies on the friction between the taper of the shaft and prop, it seems wrong. No load should ever be transfered to the key, so I would think it's a bad idea. I think on a splined shaft, a lubricant is right, but I'll have to disagree with you on a taper shaft. But like everything else, we all have an opinion, just some are valued more than others.
