Prop puller

I want to pull my props this winter and was wondering if this is a difficult job. Should I get a mechanic to do it or could I do it easily enough. Where is the best place to purchase a prop puller. I have a 1977 28' Bertram with 1 1/8' shafts and am running 17x17 props. What is the best technique to pull the props.
