Interesting idea to me. I'd get the torque curves for a 454 and a new 6.0 and compare. When I asked the Merc. guy for the curves on the 6.1 (or whatever), he said Merc. wouldn't release the torque numbers. With the Crusaders, which are standard GM blocks, you should be able to get the numbers from GM, if not Crusader. Dick is right in a way--its the torque that makes are boats go, not peak horsepower. Just ask the diesel guys.... I'm interested in what you find out.
