OK-here's another view. I have a B31, which has about the same size cabin as a B28. I overnight a few times a year on our B31 with my wife and 2 kids (11 & 13). Yeah, its a little tight, but it works out fine. We tie-up at marinas, and don't spend much time in the cabin. The B31 sleeps the 4 of us just fine, and last year we had 22 people (half kids) either in the cockpit, on the the dock, on the bridge, or in the cabin having pizza, soda and beer. Worked fine.
My take is that the B28s and B31s are economical small fish boats that you can single-hand easily, and are fine for overnighting if you don't expect much. I thought about 33s and 35s, but they just seem to big to take out on a regular basis by yourself or with just your kid or kids, and I do alot of that (I live on the Ches. Bay). Plus, while a B28 or B31 will do fine with gassers, I'd want diesel in a B33 or B35. Just another view...
