I’m redoing the interior (literally gutting both staterooms, head and galley/salon) on my B38 as well. I too considered an Island Berth in the fwd stateroom (a little more comfortable when using the boat as a weekend condo & women generally prefer the arrangement), but have decided to stay with a V arrangement birth because 1) works out much better when multi-day offshore fishing with 4-5 guys and 2) works significantly better when trying to sleep while underway in 10+ foot head seas because you can jam yourself against the hull (will end up on the floor with an Island berth eventually – a side berth works though). Just a thought, depending on how you use your boat.
