The Stripers are running

Yesterday morning I got up early. I put on my long johns, dressed quietly, made some lunch, grabbed the dog and went to the garage. The reports are that the Stripers are schooled up , and hitting anything that that you throw their way. The 31 is fueled and ready to go.

As I backed the pick-up out of the garage, I see that rain is pouring down; It is like a torrential downpour. There is snow mixed in with the freezing rain, and the wind is blowing 50 mph . It is COLD.

It didn’t take much driving through this freezing slush to do the sensible thing …a quick 180, and back to the garage. The local weather channel verified that this was to go on all day, so I quietly undressed and slipped back into bed.

There, I cuddled up to my wife’s back, now with a different anticipation, and whispered, “the weather out there is terrible”. To which she sleepily replied, “ Can you believe that my stupid husband is out fishing in that s**t!

Florida, here I come!!!
