Ian is our resident expert on the B-20, and he is correct (as usual) that Bertram introduced the 20 footer as the "Moppie". I have the Feb. 1965 issue of Popular Boating, and the cover story is "Popular Boating tests the new Bertram 20' Moppie". The Bertram spec sheet in the article refers to "The Bertram Moppie 20". Also, there is a Bertram Yacht add in the magazine that promotes their "new Bertram Moppie". I think we all agree with Dave, though, that the original "Moppie" will always be the wooden one that he and Sam Griffith raced (and won) in the 1960 Miami-Nassau offshore race. Like others, I tend to refer to the standard "run-about" Bertrams with the ragtops as Moppies.
