Doc, I did a similar move when I bought the Can Do It. Gave them a low offer . He bickered and got angry and said "I could get an attorney from Birmingham now to pay much more for it". I proceeded to leave and check out of the motel. My cell phone rang. It was the broker . We split the difference and I gave him a check contingent upon a satisfactory survey. Which never happened as I could not get one to do it except the dealer who wanted $2700 ! That was 5 1/2 years ago too.I did it myself with instructions on what to look for by my surveyor friend back down here in Ft. Myers.
You really never know.One thing for sure you don't want to pay very much for something you know you may have to sink 80 or $90,000 into in upgrades. We all know how easy that is to rack up.
Sure wish I knew about this site earlier than I did.Now I'm off to Miami to be an observer in the big "Sailfish Kickoff" I'm wearing my Bertram jacket so they would not dare to put me on a 65 ft Hatteras. I'm looking foward to that fun this weekend.Tight lines and keep warm. Dave K
