Back in the day, for those of us who purchased them new, we actually got a discount on insurance through Bertram Yacht. They had a deal with CNA Insurance. Now I agree with you that the risk needs to be spread. That is part of the issue but that is doable, since no matter who insures the boats, will still spread the risk over the policyholder base. The real question is, can we get the valued correctly for the right price. That is the hard part. In a large group we may be able. I have a pretty much outside of deck original FBC that Boat US will not take over 40,000. Now I know a guy that has what I think is a 73, only a new deck and a tower and they do him at 60,000. Now why can he get 60 and I can't. Tower and radar can not be worth 20,000. So a group may be able to just get a company to price these things right. Tony Meola
