Randall,
I know you wouldn't put diesel in, but what about where you get your fuel from?I know at a local marina the fuel supplier some how had dumped some diesel in the gas tank. They knew when some of the gas engines who filled up started running rough. Gas samples were red.
Turned out after sampling it was mixed about 4 gas to 1 diesel.
The quote below is from a study about the red dye in diesel/#2 and what happens when it burns in certain circumstances or in certain engines, or in mixture with other fuels.
"The effects of the dye are not clear, but tests indicate that even minute amounts in engines can be heated into a tarlike substance that clogs fuel nozzles in the engines".
