have tabs...use tabs depending on situations.
As with other topics on this board you will find many different answers. My own opion is if you have them keep them, but if you don't have them, you don't necessarily have to go out and get them. As mentioned, I have them and like them. Had them on my little boat as well. They enable you to even a list, trim the bow down for head seas, adjust for quatering seas, and also come in handy for slow trolling when in the extended(down) position. When cruising I often watch my tachs, speed, and floscans as I adjust the trim tabs for optimum cruise and efficiency. I usually gain about 1 to 1 1/2 kts after adjusting the tabs. One other point not yet mentioned here yet. Some will say that tabs will cut off fish. In 30 years of fishing on trim tab equipped boats, I have never lost a fish cutting off by the tabs.
