I have a condition where the boat sits about 1" into the boot stripe. My slip seems to face SE and I fight growth on the Starboard stern quarter all season as I guess it gets the most sun for the longest time. No matter what I do, I eventually lose. When the idiots that steam clean the bottom at hauling, work on that growth, they inevitably damage the boot stripe causing me to have to have it painted every year. Since it's below my gunnels, THEY have to do it, and it costs me plenty!3 bootstripes in 3 years is a pain in the ass. Walter
