John - I know Sam, the owner of Release, and he's always coming up with ideas, most good. He came up with one years ago for some big heat shrink tubing to put over Aftco trolling rod butts, but got the sizes worng. I bought some at the FLL show and when they didn't work, he made the deal right with some other merchandise. Point is, Sam is a good guy.

Now the no bolt rod holders have one basic flaw in my view - the bolts (actually machine screws, Sam) that go in from unterneath into the threaded holes in the cast bosses on the top flange - will gall in about 2 days and render the whole thing a permanent installation. Now maybe gobbing in some TefGel will fix that problem, but it's just one of those dissimilar metals issues we have talked about.
