Went out again on Sunday fishing for stripers in the Virginia Northern Neck area of the Chesapeake Bay.
I left the docks at 11:00 am, cruised to several fishing spots and returned at dusk, 5:00pm. Trolling speeds 3 knots, 2.1 to 2.5 with trim tabs down. Cruise was 4250RPM and 22.5 knots (WOT 6500). Fuel burn showed to be about 9GPH per side. In total, 6 hours of running and I burned 31.5 gallons of fuel. Now for the best part....
We only had one 25" striper in the box and were going to call it a day, on the way back we found a school of birds working. We ended up only one fish short of the limit with at least a half dozen throw backs. What a day. I had a boat pull along side and compliment my boat, he was in a Grady.
