When you pay your Boat US premiums

Next time you pay your Boat useless premiums, remember this story.
I'm sure this goes on in other insurance companies, but I have no first hand experience with others.Apparently Boat US adjusters don't get paid unless they find something wrong. IE writing a claim.
What started this was a boat left in the water for Wilma sunk at the dock. The reason for its sinking was the owner had no working bilge pumps. It had been known at the marina for at least a year because everytime it rained hard, the boat would list.
Well the insurance adjuster was told this but chose to ignore it because he would not get paid unless it was turned in under a loss due to the hurricane otherwise the customer would not be covered.Another boat at the marina just had a brand new Honda put on it. 15hp. It hit the dock and broke the bracket, but the OB did not go under. It was pulled off.
The adjuster is going to total the boat and claim the OB was lost overboard so he can take the OB home with him to fix the bracket and resell for profit.This same adjuster was in NO for the Katrina mess and told stories of doing the same thing with boats and reselling the motors and or boats for profit when full damage or loss did not occur. He had friends buy the boats and he sold them.
Most owners would rather total the boat so they don't care as long as they get a check.
Paying an adjuster for making a claim does not make for good business. I thought they were paid reguardless of a claim or not.
This crap, along with the FEMA fraud makes us honest people pay thru the nose for premiums.
Next time you write the check for your premiums, encourage your underwriter to look up its own skirt to keep insurance fraud down.
Really disgusted over this one.
