Walter,

I never took the tank out of my B20 Bahia, but it appears to have been glassed in forward and open on the sides. I'm not sure what the bottom of the tank is sitting on, but if I recall there some hockey puck looking things that the tank is sitting on.

If you are scrapping the tank I'd drain it completely (you can purchase an electronic fuel pump for a few bucks that is 12 volt)then fill the tank with H20. Any fuel remaining will float on the top of the water and you should be able to suck that off and be certain that all fuel / fumes are gone. At this point put your dust mask on and go to town... ...
