The AC halogen flood lites can be had at any home supply store. They are used for security and outdoor lighting.

The bodies are mostly pot metal which will dissolve in salt air pretty quickly. A way around this is to replace all hardware with stainless, scuff up the paint real good on the housing and paint with a high temp paint multiple coats and seal the glass lense with silicone to keep the moisture out.

As far as spot lites go.
I've worked on every brand with units up to the many thousands of dollars.
They all suck.

Get yourself a good hand held, replaced the cig lighter plug with a good marine plug and use that.

Your arm will respond quicker than a motorized unit, be more manuverable, and have true 360 degree rotation and field of view.
