Well, they pulled the boat in the picture off of the causway yesterday. They used a large crane to lift it up and placed it on a barge.
This morning they are trying to pull the large dual masted sailboat off of the riprap. There's a large tug and a smaller work boat pulling on it now. I stopped by to watch and it appears that the boat is partially afloat as the waves seem to lift it up and down.
Another few hundred yards to the north of this boat is another 40+ foot sailboat that sank at the owners dock. The mast is missing and the only the starbord side is visable.
The city peir on the west side of the ICW is now sitting 30' ontop of the causeway. Looks like it ripped from the pilings and floated up to the high water mark.
I'm concerned about getting out on the local waters with all of the debri that I see. Hope I don't run into anything. Planning an offshore trip next weekend.
Check out the power situation in south FL.
Best of luck to my S. FL friends. Let me know if you need any help. We can make a run south to help with anything. Like every good Floridian, I have a genset, chainsaw and plenty of fuel.
