Randall,
With the exception of the pulpit, engine replacements in 89, and the radar arch in 03, Windstar is still in original condition. And the engines were replaced with 454 Mercs, not exactly leaving the "purity line" there. She has faded white nautilex decks and cabin soles, original gel coat, even the original Bertram (black) bimini top and a plaque (from Bertram Yacht) on the helm console warning me to lower the top at cruise or in high wind conditions. The helm side panels have been changed to white along with the bulkheads to the v-berths, however I still have the original woodgrain in the step down area to the berths and a small piece to the starboard side of the helm station.
For the record, I am the 3rd known owner of the boat. Aside from adding the arch I haven't done much to her except keep her as clean and shiny as possible. Personally, and this may be a biased opinion, but I happen to think she is one of the better looking NON-RESTORED B31's to come down the ICW in a long time. Even the last previous owner said she looks better than when he owned her, so I guess I must be doing something right. What lays ahead in the future is another story though.
