In Response To: Source for Fuel Tank Gaskets? (Mack)

Mack,
If you sending unit is the orginal cork float slide unit, replace it with a new electric Issapro unit. The old slide up and down style have two bronze rods that the cork rides on, they become corroded and will hang up in rough water conditions, also the cork will absorb fuel and water giving false readings, I've had it happen. If your unit is functioning OK just go the local auto parts store and get a sheet of cork gasket material and trace the pattern and reseal with gasket cement. The Issapro units are around a $100. and need a 3 wire tinned copper conductor to feed the fuel gauge and they have calibration screws on the top of the sender. 18" is the depth of the fiberglass tank. Good luck, a 31 owner for 27 years.
