Yes sir Mr. Patrick,
I'm waiting intill 6 AM tommorrow to make my final decession on weather to take the Can Do It up river at my old spot ot leave it on the lift secured if we are not going to get the surge. If this storms turns a little north we're toast.Our Sr. Meteoroligst is thinking it may turn even at the extreme southern end of the peninsula . But that was at 11 AM this morning and just his opinion. I hope he is right as that way it will impact less people here but it will hit people on the other coast so this is a no win situation.My cousin in Naples is riding out the storm at his house in Naples which is west of US 41. We tried to talk some sense into him but no luck. My aunt (his mum) is elderly and can't walk.
They called for mandatory evacuations here at our home in Ft. Myers Beach (I'm 1.0 miles from the open Gulf inland on a canal)at 11 AM this morning.Interesting the phone rang and it was a recording from emergency management to evacuate our home. Most people are gone but also do to the uncertainty are staying put now untill we know more. Everyone here except my next door neighbor is ready. He flew the coup back to N.H. and left his stilt home unprotected!That's why are insurance rates are up because of folks like that. Well back to my final preperations. I'm just waitng untill morning then I'll go to the station with the wife and cat and dog to my shop. She gets spooked with the water rising and winds. My new generator I guess will be used shortly. Hopefully if it doesn't float away. Dave K
