My daily driver '88 Jetta split a CV boot which was just standing open and flopping with each revolution. Didn't have time to fix it. Sure enough, within weeks it went completely to hell: rack, rack, rack, rack, rack, rack, etc. Seizing, popping, straining. Still didn't have time to fix it. I thought I'd give it a squirt of CX just to possibly get another few days out of it. That was a year ago, the boot's almost gone, and I'm still driving the car every day.
