I use my Jabsco bucket pump normally used for changing the oil in my engines and transmissions. The dipstick tube that comes with it easily passes through the top of the Racor down into the bowl (with filter element removed). I just suck it out. The clear tubing allows you to see how much crap was in there. I usually change the element each time, but you could put the old one back. Top off with clean diesel, open the valves and go. These bucket pumps are great. I use mine for engine oil, transmission oil, coolant and fuel filters. They reverse so you can pump the old liquids into the new empty bottles.
