Wilma - Deja-Vue' Irene *LINK* *PIC*

This morning's forecast of Wilma brings back memories of Irene in mid October of '99. Nearly the same potential track...

Wilma is being plotted very consistantly by all of the models with little dissagreement. If the forecast holds Wilma will cross the FL peninsula between Saturday afternoon & Sunday morning. West coat FL should be prepared for a Cat2 storm entering between FT Meyers & Everglades City, exiting the east coast as a Cat1 between Stuart & Miami.

The high pressure ridge is still the strongest steering current and it's speed of approach to the southeast will dictate Wilma's final track on Friday & Saturday.

Once Wilma hooks eastward over the western tip of Cuba she'll pick up speed of advance & become a fairly fast moving storm, so the potential for damage will be somewhat reduced. But as always, there is no such thing as a "safe hurricane" at ground zero...
