Shaft Length

Just marked the shafts to cut and key.( 1 1/2 dia.)
I kept a 7/8in. gap between the back of the strut and the, seated, prop hub.
I had planned to instal drive savers which are about 1 1/16in. thick.(Can you see where I am headed?)
I assume you align without the drive savers mounted.
BUT, you can't get a good face to face on the flanges with these dimentions.
Do you use thicker guages, increase the gap at the hub, don't use the savers or WHAT.
Maybe I'm being picky, but I can see a possible error.
Thanks,
Bill M
P.S.Do not use COURSE valve compound when seating the props, use FINE.
P.S.S The drive savers come with thin heat disapating washers.Where do they get mounted, between the shaft coupling and the plastic or on the outside under the nut or bolt head?
