Then you don't need to worry about interfacing with your PC. You use the same cable. There are 3 ends to it. One for the unit, one for the PC, and one for the outlet.

While sitting at your kitchen table, you can drop in all of your waypoints and routes on the machine just like if you were on your bridge. You would need to hook up to the PC if you were trying to update the software or to use a program to make a copy of your waypoints and routes. This is a good free program I've used to take waypoints and routes from one unit and move them to another:
