I have the 41XX. I have never gotten that error code but don't see how running twelve volts to the motor could possibly hurt. If in doubt remove/unplug the cable from the display and try to get the motor to spin the array. These are very heavy duty units as I'm sure you are aware.
Isn't yours Jimmy G's former unit ?
I have a manual for the thing somewhere. Shoot me an email if you need help.
