Hmmm.
I have posted and read all the others. Wow, we are a tough crowd to please!
That is not a bad thing, because what it means is that we love our boats. Good thing. I love going to boat shows and really walking away happy with what I already have, rather than jonesing for something I can't afford. It is a real relief.
From outward appearances I am not sure, but I really think I will know more about how I feel when I see the boat in person. That will enable me to decide. Reality is that I cannot afford to own a new Bertram 36, so it really isn't an issue. It isn't marketed to me at this point, and reality is it isn't marketed to any of us either as we already have what we like or can afford at this point.
She is probably a pretty solid platform, entering into a market that is pretty competitive. However it is a market that has room in it for new offerings, as the Luhrs, etc. crowd does leave significant room for improvement.
I have never ridden on a Cabo 35. I love the way they look. Always have. Look is one thing, noise is another. I think its a strong challenge to overcome on any express boat. They can be loud, because there isn't that much separating you from the engines, regardless of how much soundown you put in there. But I do like being on the same level as the anglers, and that makes it much more social. And that is often what boating is...social.
I can't wait until Lauderdale. It is going to be a blast for any number of reasons. Meeting Bertram people I have spoken with on the phone for years is one reason. Seeing this boat is another. Most of all, is getting some time with friends I have not seen for a while from this site.
But I am not going to pass judgement until I have seen with my own eyes, for myself.
