On Long Island I paid $12US per foot for sand blasting. Took the guy 1 hr 15mins to do the job. I put down the tarp and hung the sides so as to contain the sand. Bottom came out great. He has been doing this for twenty some yrs. Said I don't have to fill in any pock marks( It's a Bertram hull!) Just barrier coat three times. This is one reason my boats goes so fast this season. Boy, are we savin'in on fuel? I don't think so!

One very important thing. In the northeast region, the bottom should be done in October so it can dry out over the winter. Not to be done in Feb 'cause you'll have no time to dry. Storing the boat inside with some heat is another story.

Oh, yeah, I paid in green backs, saving the "you know what". They'd piss it away anyway--that's my attitude.
