The Duck is dead.....

The Palm Beach "Diva Duck" which was part boat, part truck that took tourists on a ride both over the land and then entered the water for a tour of Palm Beach, caught fire on I-95 in the N Florida area and burned to the ground.

It was driving back to WPB from S Carolina where it had repairs and engine work done to it.

The owner was a former opra singer and still owed 200k on the boat/truck but had no insurance.

She said that she couldn't get coverage for loss.

I've seen the thing aorund town and it was quite a novel idea.

I don't know why she would have it driven up and back to S Carolina. Not very economical on the hwy and I'm sure high maintenance. She should have put it on a low boy.

If the fire was caused by faulty work, my guess is she will sue. Both the dot and Coast Guard are investigating the loss.
