The overall majority of the boating population has no taste or style. It is reflected in the way maufacturers design boats.

It has nothing to do with "old school lines" being outdated. It stems from the invasion of the "euro" designs that US maufacturers went to after Azimuth and similar boats were being imported and the boating public went nuts for something 'euro".

These are made for the guy and gal wearing shorts, black socks, knit top with the latest designers logo, deck shoes, rolex watch and gold acutriments dangling wilst holding the afternoon cocktail named apropriatly Biff and Muffy.

Boating to me used to be a lifestyle, a gathering of people on the docks talking about fishing and cruising.

At least down here, that is gone. No one gathers anymore. The old timers are either dead or too old. The young ones with the money are to busy trying to stay on top and the boat is just another "toy" or "window dressing" to add to the stable.

As long as the public wants these designs, they will make them.
