I'm with you 100% Walter on the ring bouy /anchor retrieval system.
I anchor in 50-100' every day in the Fl keys when I'm yellowtailing, and the method is so easy, that my wife is in charge of the deployment and retrieval of the anchor. It's all done from the cockpit....to retrieve, just deploy the ball, run up your anchor line at about a 30degree angle till you can snatch the line beside the boat with a boat hook. A couple of turns around a spring line cleat, and keep running till the anchor floats in the ring on the ball. Then neutral, and the wind will blow you back to the floating ball/anchor and it's just a matter of coiling the floating line, chain and anchor into the cockpit. We never leave the cockpit....the other end of the anchor line stays 'permantly' attached to the cleats on the bow, and then through the bow chock. Maybe it doesn't look as pretty as a pulpit/windless, but I've never had to use C/X on this system, and it NEVER fails.
