I would look into the normal water rertiction items you would look to if it was overheating. However I might start backwards starting at the risers, as it seems you may have enough water to cool the engine but not enough to cool the exhaust.

Another thing maybe not common to others, but on real humid/damp days you would think I was running on steam engines at cruise, especially when running with a slight breeze from behind.
