Phil,

An oval is simply a squashed circle. If your exhaust pipe calls for 5" and you want your oval to only be 4" high then add 1" to the width. e.g. an oval 4"x6". For a 3 1/2" height make your width 6 1/2", etc.

However much you squash the height down the width has to spread out by the same measurement...
