If you are modifying a fiberglass tube make sure that the area of the oval(ellipse) remains the same as the 4" diameter or 12.56" area that is the minimum required on the 6LP.
To find the area of an ellipse if you don't know, you can draw two line segments through an ellipse, each of which will split the ellipse into two sections that are reflections of each other.
An ellipse has two axes of symmetry, one horizontal and the other vertical.If you call the distance from the center of the ellipse to an end of the horizontal axis of symmetry a, then b equals the distance
from the center to the end of the vertical axis of symmetry, then the area of the ellipse will be pi x a x b. Pi is 3.14.No need to carry pi out any further.
