Randy,
Thanks again for the carbide tips... If it weren't for smoke and mirrows us artist types would be SOL.
Got lucky with yesterday's epoxy run & it was cured hard as nails by 05:00 this morning. Sanded the console down, next to no break through to wood, applied the final wipe down of epoxy by 16:00.
Will rub it down good with a medium Scotch Brite pad Saturday morning & hope to have 6 coats of varnish sprayed on by Sunday evening (Epifanes RapidClear Semi-gloss).
I'll let it rest for a couple of days before the intermediate sanding with 220 grit then switch to Epifanes WoodFinish Gloss, (another 6 coats). Those coats will go on 1 per day, scuffed the next day.
Final sanding with 220 grit will occur after the 12th coat, then two light, but wet coats a 1/2 hour apart.
Hope to be finished and ready for installation by 10/11...
Br,
Patrick
