Clever. We get 4 for one hours if we teach the seminars, and for many years I taught FDIC people the techniques of detecting bank fraud, and they paid me to do it, so I was cruising. Then banks quit failing in big numbers and they stopped the seminars, so I was on my own. Frank Fimmano got me a gig to teach bank fraud issues at a credit union convention at Amelia Island after that and my fee was they picked up my bar tab. I did not get invited back.......
You are right, the manditory continuing education for licensed professionals is now just a money grubbing racket, does nothing for the professions. It's time we all storm the seats of power with pitchforks and get them to end this foolishness. After all, there is always the guy or gal that graduated last in their class from law or medical school. The thing that protects the public from dumb or crooked professionals is that there are zillions of lawyers eager to sue the crap out of them for screwing up.
Forcing me to listen to 12.5 hours of dribble-s**t about divorce law begs the fact that one of the two happiest days of my life was 30+ years ago when I did my last divorce case, only rivaled by the time 12 years ago when I sold my lawnmower.
