Hi Chris,

I own a 31 bertram (Eiremar) and fish out of Indian River. My boat is docked on Rehoboth Bay.

You'll love it in Lewes. The fishing is great from April through December. There's a good variety of bottom fishing from Tautog early in April to striped bass in December. The Delaware Bay and the inshore ocean waters have a variety of good bottom fishing.

Offshore fishing is excellant. It starts with bluefishing and sharkfishing in early May with tuna following close behind. Bluefin tuna can be caught consistently starting late June on the various bumps and lumps as close as 20 miles off the beach. Some years there is a consistent bite on 100 to 200 lb class bluefin at areas which are only 30 to 40 miles from the inlet. Yellowfin tuna inhabit these same areas but the better fishing is from the 30 fathom line on out. The 30 line is about 40 miles from the inlet and the canyons are about 60 miles.

Striper fishing in the fall is excellent. If you dock your boat in Lewes, you'll have a very short run to the shoals in the mouth of the Delaware Bay where there is excellant fishing.
