Hollow backs the only way to go, you will never bend it for the bow without killing yourself. Did the rub rail retro on my 25B, but used Taco for the poly and stainless.
Just quick pointer on the stainless, you have to layout the stainless when starting so you don't line up the screw holes in the stainless with the screw heads in the poly. This will make things alot easier.
