da Judge is on his way home

Me & the Bride just delivered His Honor to the BTR airport where he got his Mooney out of Dr. Walter Atkinson's private hanger and is winging his way back to his (intact, with power, no flooding) home in Galveston. His departure was delayed by our Prez visiting BR in AF One, and another restricted area over the areas hammered by Rita, but he made it off. We sure enjoyed his stay, and the stay of our kids and grandkids (no power). Da Judge is indeed a creme de la creme guy, best there is. He made his famous homemade peanut butter for the Bride this morning, a real treat. We had some serious laughs during his stay, even though I knew he was cringing every time the hurricane made a move. The immediate and real prospect of losing your home is not something you contemplate lightly........
Anyway, the network of friends we have made here comes through when the going gets tough. da Judge had met Dr. Atkinson on the Mooney airplane site and the guy, without hesitation, let His Honor put his plane in this huge million dollar hangar, made two trips through heavy traffic to get it in and then out just now - acted like he was doing his best friend a casual favor. The doc could have rented space in that hangar for 500 bucks a night all day long.......
We returned from the airport to find our power out for the first time during the storm, guess the power guys are taking sections down to work on the lines. Got the big diesel cranking out juice, it's 95 degrees here, so damn good thing.
Anyway, thank all of you guys for the support of all of us affected by these two terrible storms. I owe all ya'll a clear or 12.......
Our camp on the Tickfaw got historic flooding from the storm surge of Rita, about 3' over the downstairs slab, so it's gonna be a mess, probably a trashed frige down there and an ice machine. Me & da Judge picked up all the important stuff out of that area Friday morning, so just a hose out job, some Clorox, and should be OK. Camp nieghbor says a foot over anything in living memory. Guess AJ might have made another voyage in the warehouse in N.O. further reducing the rubble of the Blubliners....... We are tired of this crap......
