Patrick, you are right on what you stated. Usually one switched positive wire to the guage and you can loop the other guages and lights together, same with the ground. The only one that needs separate wire is to the senders. But make sure you have correct sending units, most with dual guages needs a different sender than if you only had single guage. Good luck Ken
