Gauge wiring

Gentlemen,

First off, good luck to those in the path of Rita, It wasn't pretty here in the keys, and it was an infant then compared to what it is now. Now to my problem.

I am attempting to wire up a set of new gauges. I have a 72 B31 FB with a tower(second set of gauges in the tower). I have the following gauges:
Oil Pressure
Coolant Temp
Gear oil press.
Voltmeter

I had Gaffrig gauges when I did the refit, but they aren't even worth the energy I am using to tell you how worthless they were. I purchased a new set of Faria gauges, and sending units to make sure I had all the correct components. I ordered this through Ward's in Lauderdale. When I did the refit, I had a local yard do the install of the gauges(bad idea). Now I am replacing them, and using their wiring, I am showing 50psi on oil pressure and 150psi on gear oil pressure when I turn the power to the ignition. Also, my temp sensor isn't registering any temp, even when I warm the engine up (I let it idle for 20 minutes). Now, I have CAT 3116's and I looking for some basic insight into my problem. Any suggestions where to begin the trouble shoot???

I mean in the simplest form, it would seem like one leg is hot, one is ground, and one to the sender, which is what I did. I think my problem could either be the wrong sender going to the wrong gauges, or somewhere in the wiring from the sender through the engine wiring harness then back to the buss bar where everything goes back up to the helm station.

Any insite is more than appreciated. Oh, and one more thing, is there any magic to cramming my 6'2" 215lb body under that little bity helm???? So far it has been a job even a contortionist would be proud of.

BR and good luck,

Patrick
