Well in that case Ray cored fiberglass will work well and last indefinitely. It is harder to work with though than wood. But get your cutout good with Patrick's strip & hot glue method. Mine came out excellant and I'm not a carpenter.

I must have 1300 hours of work already in the Can Do It this year. Installed my antenna tuner using my port outrigger(Lee SR.) for an HF SSB antenna. Insulated the standoff so it's independent of the tower and ship ground. Used 4" cooper attached to the ground system for a ground plane. I have to test it tommorrow. Going 100+miles offshore this weekend and need it.
