Pure fiction. What makes gas go bad is O2 reacting with it. Pressure will make it worse. Now if you put it in a vacuum, maybe last longer by removing the O2 from it, or better yet, put some pure nitrogen on top of it like the phone co. does in the lines.
Gas don't last more than a year. Diesel, on the other hand, will last a life time with a little stabilizer in it. Heavy oil, no flashoff, etc. Keep the tank full to keep water from condensing in the tank and eliminating that diesel/water interface in the bottom of the tank that breeds the bacteria that clogs the filters. Simple, just do it.
