Jack,
The Cabrera cockpit systems is rather complex and was designed to accomodate the 3116 Cats. To avoid re-designing their wheel, you pretty much need the whole kit from the engine boxes back. That includes the sub-deck structures, stern cleat boxes, and side panels. The only two optional sections, in my opinion, are the cabin bulkhead & transom assembly. The stock B31 engine boxes will not fit.
Unquestionably, a Cabrera cockpit is a thing of real beauty, IF you have the money to invest and want the best look obtainable.
On the other side, the Glasstech style deck is largely "Plug and Play" & just as strong and almost as functional as the Cabrera deck. You'd only need to re-do any necessary sub-deck structures in much the same manner that the originals were built, freshen up the original engine boxes, and in the long run, you'd have about 1/4 the finished cost...
It really comes down to what you want your B31 to be when completed and how many thousands of dollars you're willing to spend.
Br,
Patrick
