More UVI 6 info

Got some generic info today from the Tropic Star. One of the pix in the slick brochure is of about 10 B31's, all different hull colors, lunrking at their dock, enough to make even the most cynical of us grin. On reflection, the 6 day fishing, 7 nights stay deal is probably a little too much for me, since you have to add a day on each end for travel, so figure you are on the road for 9 or 10 days. I'm leaning toward the 4 days fishing, 5 night stay deal. Arrive Panama City on Sat. afternoon, spend the night there, fly over to Pinas Bay on Sunday morning, fish Sunday thru Wed, fly back to Pa. City on Thursday and then home. Rack rate for the 6/7 stay is about 3900 vs. about 2800 for the 4/5, plus another 350 for the bush plane to the lodge. I have our week - the third week of June, reserved for now. There is no reason some of us could not do the 4/5 and others do the 6/7. The bush planes come three times a week for the set 350 a man price.
The "trip organizer" (me) gets a big discount on his stay based on the # of folks that come. I will chip in my discount to the collective bar tab (only thing not included are the clears).
I should hear from the lodge this week on a specific deal for the Faithful and will post. The TS requires a pretty reasonable deposit about 6 months ahead, and the pull-out penalty is pretty severe, so when we get down to the nitty-gritty, be prepared to pony up well ahead. They suggest trip cancellation insurance, which I know zippo about. Any of the Faithful know?
