Chiles, I've got a Globalstar handheld. Had it going on a couple of years now with no real issues. Weather does affect occasionally, usually its just operator error though. I've had it all over north America and down to Guatemala with good service. Frankly I don't know what I pay monthly. I think its $60 or so with 90 minutes included, but I'm not positive. Below is the contact email I got initially from the outfit I purchased it from and who services it. In the last year, most of my Galveston area fishing friends have used the same group. I would do it again in a heartbeat.-Tom
Globalstar phone by Qualcomm model GSP1600 handheld satellite phone carries a cost of $550.00/each. This includes the phone, battery, U.S. wall charger and owner's manual.
Attached are the airtime plans available and the one year agreement that Globalstar requires. This document also shows a picture of the phone. Please contact me should you have any questions.
Phone $550.00 + Tax (8.250%) $45.38 = Total of $595.38. If you will not be picking the phone up we can ship to you on UPS for an additional $10.83 which includes tax. This amount should be put on the Able credit card form.
