Capt. Dave,
Sorry, I should have clarified. I'm really talking about the handheld models, Globalstar, Iridium, etc.

With all the N.O. activity and another storm lurking off our coast (way too close to my boat for my liking) it's put communication in the front of our minds. If there is no power or local lines for the cell towers to use, what good does a cell phone do.
