Guy, when I go down to the Keys I carry my fuel by drum and fill it at the dock to save a few bucks, anyway a few years back a mouse or something built a nest in the hose and I pumped the whole mess into the tank. I drained in several times trying to clean it out, but could never get it all to work through the baffles either. I never had screens on the pick-ups, but the grass would periodically build-up in the 90 deg. fittings coming off the tank, I hade to open the fittings and pull the grass/leaves out and all would be fine for a while. If I had tank screen, I would be pulling the pick-up tube over and over, a much worse job. Through all that though the racor caught everything and the carbs never had a problem. That's a long story just to say that you don't want screens in the tank pick-ups, and watch out for cloggs in the 90 deg. fittings, the racors will eventually clear it up, mine hasn't give me any trouble in a long time.
Good luck, Scott
